For their concert slot at Sound of Stockholm, member society Konstmusiksystrar has curated a concert with Cassé, an Italian-Swiss duo between Caroline Profanter and Selene Mauvis, who started their collaboration in a basement home studio in Brussels, in 2019. They play with used, found and often semi-broken instruments, aiming for writing a “Greatest Hit” at each rehearsal. Their rhythms and melodies are as simple as effective, their polyglot, Dadaist lyrics are sung, chanted or rapped, sometimes in an hypnotic style. The approach is DIY, low-fi, to use what is at hand, looking for a variety of acoustically played objects and instruments, and a minimum of electronics (yamaha keyboard, megaphones).

Konstmusiksystrar (Sisters in Contemporary Music) is a network for composers and sound artists who define themselves as women, non-binary or transgender people. It was founded in 2014 by Marta Forsberg and Lo Kristenson, who at the time were studying composition at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. Our website with its ever-expanding list of composers and sound artists functions as a vital resource for anyone interested in diversifying the commissioning and curating of contemporary new music. Together the Konstmusiksystrar members form a platform for a new generation of contemporary music.
