Arvid Kraft is a composer and writer whose work explores the intricate relationship between meaning and music, often through the interplay of text and voice. By experimenting with the dynamics of meaning and signification, Kraft uses text, voice, and sound in his compositions as if they were elements that balance on a traditional scale—where one side signifies meaning, and
the other represents its opposite: non-meaning. His interest lies in the tension and contrast between these opposing forces, and in discovering what exists in the middle ground.

Kraft’s music has been performed at festivals across Europe, including Ung Nordisk Musik, Limina Festival, and Nordic Music Days. In addition to composing, he is also a poet and a cultural curator/producer. Through his label Echo & Altar, which he co-runs with close friends, he released the anthology Phineidae, one of his most extensive text-based works to date. Kraft regularly performs with composer and vocalist Adele Marcia Kosman, and together they are known as Kid08.
Arvid Kraft är en kompositör och författare vars verk utforskar den intrikata relationen mellan mening och musik, ofta genom samspelet mellan text och röst. Genom att experimentera med meningsskapande och betydelse använder han text, röst och ljud i sina kompositioner som om de vore element som balanserar på en traditionell våg där den ena sidan symboliserar mening och den andra motsatsen: icke-mening. Hans intresse ligger i spänningen och kontrasten mellan dessa motstridiga krafter, och i att upptäcka vad som finns i mellantillståndet.

Arvids musik har framförts på festivaler över hela Europa, inklusive Ung Nordisk Musik, Limina-festivalen och Nordic Music Days. Arvid är också poet och kulturarrangör. Genom sitt skivbolag Echo & Altar, som han driver tillsammans med tre nära vänner, har han släppt antologin Phineidae, ett av hans mest omfattande textbaserade verk hittills. Kraft uppträder regelbundet tillsammans med kompositören och sångerskan Adele Marcia Kosman, och tillsammans är de kända som Kid08Phineidae is about meaning and non-meaning—a shifting framework built on structured yet abstract symbolism and semantics. Amidst heavy heartbeats, there is an invisible body embodied by three singers. These three form a trinity, called upon—both as individuals and a collective—to
sing, speak, shout, and whisper a surreal tale of identity, desire, and the other. The invisible body transforms into the sound of the organ, whose harmony and functionality constantly shifts between consonance and dissonance. Through a wall of speakers, acousmatic voices utter whispered confessions and fragmented axioms. Together, these elements create a grand yet fragile sound world that shifts between clarity and obscurity.
