Shapes of Sounds is an audiovisual duo consisting of composer and sound artist Alexandra Nilsson and artist & illustrator Jenny Soep. Together they research and explore live audio-visual dialogue through both acoustic / analog and electronic /digital sound and drawing.

The duo has collaborated since 2015, performing in festivals and art spaces such as Nordic Music Days, Svensk Musikvår, Arvika Ljus!, Köttinspektionen and Gallery Detroit Stockholm. They also perform for schools and lead workshops on ´How to draw sounds and how to play drawings´.

Newly premiered in Glasgow during Nordic Music Days - now Stone Drawings will have its Swedish premiere at Sound of Stockholm.
With the instrumentation of Swedish and Scottish sandstone, and live-painting with sand and water, Swedish composer and sound artist Alexandra Nilsson together with Scottish visual artist Jenny Soep, will explore the delicacy and rawness of sand and sandstone in their new audiovisual work – Stone Drawings. 

Alexandra Nilsson has been composing and performing with various types of stones and electronics during the last years within her project FOSSIL,  including concerts, commissions and installations. 

Visual artist Jenny Soep has specialized in drawing music and events, and exploring live-drawing in collaboration with musicians, dancers and performers. 
Together they meet in their ongoing audiovisual project Shapes of Sounds.
